Single Parent Fund

The Maurine R. and Joseph A. Humphris Fund is intended to assist single parents in financial need to attend BYU Education Week. 

In 2026, applications will be accepted from April 2 to July 17. A committee will review the applications that meet the fund criteria (listed below) and assist as many applicants as possible. Distribution amounts are determined by the minimum financial assistance applicants need to attend the program. Preference is given to patrons who have not previously received assistance.

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  1. Single parent
  2. Guardian of one or more dependent children
  3. Financial need
  4. Application for assistance is available to U.S. citizens, permanent U.S. residents, U.S. tax residents, or non-U.S. citizens who live outside the United States.

Note: Financial assistance for BYU Continuing Education programs may constitute taxable income. Total assistance received in a year of $600 or more is reported on a Form 1099-MISC. An adult applicant for financial assistance or the parent or guardian of a minor applicant for financial assistance may be required to complete a Form W-9 in order to receive financial assistance to allow proper reporting.
