Campus Parking and Shuttles

Education Week parking is available in specified lots on campus and is clearly marked on the map in the Education Week booklet and on the online campus map. Please park only in these areas and within painted stalls, not along unpainted curbs. Your vehicle should not extend over the lines dividing the stalls, either on the sides or in front. Cars are not allowed to park in designated motorcycle areas or travel lanes. Your vehicle may be ticketed and/or towed if you park in areas other than those indicated on the map, or if it is parked in a stall designated for another purpose, or if it is occupying more than one parking space, or if it is along an unpainted curb in a travel lane.

Disability Parking requires a state-issued handicap plate or permit.

Please do not park in neighborhoods north of the Marriott Center or east of 900 East. Although parking areas close to the center of campus fill up early, ample parking (1,600 parking spots) is available in the lot west of LaVell Edwards Stadium at 1700 North 150 East. Shuttle buses run continuously from that parking lot to campus, including EDWEEK EXPRESS routes that take you directly from the west stadium lot to the Marriott Center or to the Wilkinson Student Center. To save yourself time, you may consider parking in the west stadium lot and riding the shuttles and buses.

Courtesy vans run at regular intervals between perimeter parking lots and the main campus. Courtesy vans are available at the following times:

  • Monday: 7:45 a.m.–4:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 7:45 a.m.–10:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 7:45 a.m.–10:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 7:45 a.m.–10:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:45 a.m.–10:00 p.m.

One wheelchair-accessible van is available; the telephone number to contact its driver is 385-335-3143.

Shuttle stops are indicated on the campus map. This map will be updated as the program approaches, so please check back for construction updates. Large, detailed maps of the shuttle routes are posted at each stop and at the information desks. Although shuttles transport you to key destination points on campus, they do not take you directly to the door; it is an individual responsibility to move from class to class or to a place of residence.

Please note that access to South Campus Drive is not open to the public, and only vehicles with a valid pass (such as BYU-owned vehicles, shuttle vans, etc.) are permitted through the gates.

RV Parking

We encourage you to stay in local campgrounds designed for RVs. While it is not encouraged, RVs are permitted to park in lot 37, north of the Indoor Practice Facility (see campus map). RV parking is restricted both day and night to this lot only. RV parking on campus is available for completely self-contained RVs only and is permitted beginning Saturday, August 17, on a first-come, first-served basis. Lot 37 is a parking lot only; there are no restrooms, showers, hook-ups, dump sites, or public electrical outlets. Restrooms and showers in the student housing and locker room areas may not be used by participants staying in RVs. We also ask that you not bring pets onto campus property. When using the parking area, you must keep it free of litter, assure that your vehicle does not leak, keep awnings contained so traffic is not impeded, be sure you do not attach anything to structures, fixtures, surfaces, or electrical sources, and keep RVs inside parking stalls as much as possible. Check the campus map for the nearest shuttle stop.
